Waitrose, the quality supermarket chain, has teed up an exciting new partnership as the official hospitality sponsor for the ISPS Handa Wales Open.
Waitrose will be preparing delicious menus from their extensive range of produce for VIP hospitality guests at the golf tournament staged at Wales’ Celtic Manor Resort from August 29 – September 1.
More than 300 guests per day in the Waitrose Hospitality Experience will enjoy morning buns and pastries, a sumptuous four-course lunch with wine, and afternoon tea, all while watching top-class sporting action at the iconic venue for the 2010 Ryder Cup.
Some of the mouth-watering dishes have been created by the Waitrose Cookery School, headed up by chef Gordon McDermott, and others will include treats from Waitrose’s Duchy Originals and Heston luxury brands.
Waitrose will also put their own stylish stamp on the décor of the pavilion with a Waitrose-green carpet, floral displays, crisp white linen and white leather chairs giving the interior a fresh, modern feel.
Jeremy Hall, Waitrose Marketing Manager, said:
We are very excited about this partnership with the ISPS Handa Wales Open, one of the most prestigious golf tournaments in the UK, and we’re looking forward to welcoming hospitality guests to the pavilion and ensuring they enjoy the very finest day out.
The Celtic Manor Resort is a world-renowned golfing venue and the scenic Twenty Ten Course provides a wonderful setting for the Waitrose Hospitality Experience.
The four tournament days of hospitality provision at the ISPS Handa Wales Open will include the return of Ladies Day on Saturday 31st August, when golf meets glamour with guests dressing to the nines to enjoy one of the social and sporting highlights of the summer.
Celtic Manor Resort Chief Executive Dylan Matthews said:
We are delighted to welcome Waitrose to our portfolio of sponsors for the ISPS Handa Wales Open. The name Waitrose is synonymous with great quality food and I’m sure their expertise will help the tournament’s hospitality offering reach a whole new level.
