Leaf falls into fleet at Celtic Manor

The Celtic Manor Resort has added a 100% electric Nissan LEAF to its fleet of motor vehicles. The British-built model – the world’s bestselling electric car – is being used by the resort’s Concierge team to help transport guests around the resort and the local area.

Supplied and sponsored by Cwmbran Nissan retailer, Newtown Motors, and near silent to run, the LEAF is able to move effortlessly around the three championship golf courses without disturbing the golfers or disrupting play. The resort has also installed a number of electric vehicle charging points in its underground car park.

This means guests and members of the public can now enjoy a round of golf, gourmet meal or luxurious spa experience while charging their vehicle.

Celtic Manor Transport Manager Tim Fosdick (pictured above) said:

The LEAF is the perfect vehicle for a resort such as ours. It’s clean and quiet and the fact it can be charged so cheaply will save us a lot in fuel. We operate a lot of vehicles on site, everything from vintage cars to minibuses, but we’ve found that everybody loves driving the LEAF and our guests enjoy the passenger experience too.

Launched in the UK earlier this year, the second generation Nissan LEAF features more than 100 improvements including an increased range – 124 miles compared to 109 miles – and quicker charging times. The new LEAF can be charged in as little 30 minutes using a rapid charger.
