George North took a well-earned break from helping fire his Northampton Saints rugby team to the Aviva Premiership title by enjoying a game of golf on the Twenty Ten Course during a relaxing stay in the new Hunter Lodges.
Along with girlfriend Becky James, a two-time track cycling world champion, and their friends Liam Phillips and Jess Varnish, who are also champion cyclists, George enjoyed a weekend in the secluded splendour of the new lodges.
The Wales and Lions rugby star said:
We all absolutely loved the Hunter Lodges. The Lodge we had, the fat duck – love the name – was amazing! I didn't really want to leave and was contemplating if I could move in. We had picked a perfect weekend, the weather was beautiful and it was lush to be sat in the hot tub looking over the Twenty Ten golf course. All the staff were very helpful, a huge credit to the Celtic Manor and really capped our amazing weekend off.
George and Liam played a round on the Twenty Ten and the former Scarlets winger made a great video of their day with his new Go Pro camera (see film above). While the boys were golfing, Becky and Jess enjoyed treatments in the Forum Spa and the four friends also stepped out for dinner at the Newbridge on Usk.
The latest addition to the Celtic Manor’s world-class resort, the Hunter Lodges all sleep up to eight people in four double bedrooms and come complete with their own saunas and outdoor hot tubs.
